Snowfall will reach 25 cm

Thunder Bay - February arrives like a lion.

Environment Canada says 15 to 25 cm of snow is expected in Thunder Bay between Saturday and Sunday, and a snowfall warning has been issued. Snowfall warnings have also been issued for Nipigon and Marathon. A weather advisory has been issued for Atikokan, with 10 to 15 cm of snow expected.

The snow is expected to continue until Sunday evening.

The federal weather agency says heavy snow will begin in the area Saturday evening and continue through the night.

The highest accumulations will be in communities near Lake Superior and along the lake's north shore.

Environment Canada warns that highways, roads and sidewalks may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
