Sweet Cream brand mini pastries recalled

Thunder Bay - A food recall warning has been issued for Sweet Cream brand mini pastries in Ontario and several other regions across Canada.

The recall was triggered by a salmonella outbreak linked to the pastries.

The illness reporting period for this outbreak is 16 to 41 days.

As of Sunday, 21 cases have been reported in Ontario.

Of all reported cases, 17 people have also been hospitalized.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is warning the public not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled mini pastries.

It also noted that the products were distributed to bakeries, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, nursing homes, and catering events.

The investigation into this outbreak is still ongoing.

Residents seeking more information about the recalled products are encouraged to check the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recall notice on the Government of Canada's recall and safety alert website.
