[Thunder Bay · Snowfall Warning] Colorado Low

Environment Canada has issued a blizzard warning for the northwest shore of Lake Superior (including Thunder Bay) (see Figures 1-2 for details). Based on mesoscale numerical models, we expect snow to begin this morning (Sunday) between 9-11 a.m., with the heaviest snowfall lasting from this afternoon until early Monday morning. Snowfall will taper off during the day on Monday, though light flurries may still occur. Additionally, due to the pressure gradient of the cyclone, Thunder Bay will experience easterly onshore gusts of 6-7 on the Beaufort scale from this afternoon into the night. When going out today and tomorrow, please be mindful of the impact of snow accumulation on traffic.
