Man grabs police officer's gun, injures two officers during arrest

Thunder Bay - A 40-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly attempting to disarm a police officer and injuring two others while resisting arrest.

Thunder Bay Police said in a news release Thursday that they were dispatched to an address in the 100 block of South Syndicate Avenue to arrest a wanted individual.

Upon arrival, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. The man attempted to grab an officer's firearm and assaulted three officers as they tried to take the suspect into custody.

Two officers were injured as a result.

The accused, Timothy Dominic Brisard, is charged with three counts, including assaulting a peace officer, obstructing police, and disarming a police officer.

The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and was remanded into custody pending a future court date.
