Century brand spicy light tuna recalled

Thunder Bay - A recall warning has been issued for Century brand hot and spicy light tuna across Canada, including Ontario.

The recall is due to the product containing wheat that is not declared on the label.

As of Saturday, no reports of allergic reactions related to consuming the tuna have been received.

However, the Public Health Agency of Canada is warning the public not to consume, use, sell, or distribute the recalled tuna.

It also notes that, for safety, the public should return the recalled product to where it was purchased or throw it away.

Those who are allergic or sensitive, as well as those with celiac disease or other gluten-related conditions, should not consume the recalled product, as it may cause serious or life-threatening reactions.

The recall was triggered by test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and a food safety investigation is currently underway.

This investigation may lead to the recall of other products.
