The city police major crimes unit is at the scene on College Street (near Van Norman Street) continuing forensic examination: after a call around 15:00 yesterday, a 67-year-old man was found dead in a residence. Police preliminary assessment links the case to a "burglary interrupted in progress,"not a targeted attack on a specific individual.They urge nearby residents and businesses to provide surveillance video and eyewitness information from the afternoon to evening of October 30; if you discover break-in or suspicious clues, call 911 immediately.
