Lakehead Engineering Course Review: EVIC5113

Subject: Engineering Optimization & AI
This is an introductory course on optimization algorithms and machine learning, touching on the basics. In total, there are only four or five algorithms, so the overall difficulty is not high. The professor grades leniently. There is no midterm; Assignments and Project each account for 25%, and the Final is 50%. It is also friendly to students without any background. At the beginning, two or three classes are used to explain the installation and basic syntax of MATLAB.
For the 24fall Project, you need to write a report on related optimization algorithms and record a video presentation, requiring a team of four.
The Final is closed-book, including multiple-choice, short-answer, and coding questions. You are allowed one cheat sheet. The question types are all examples from class or assignments, so they are not difficult, and there is no grade deflation at the end.
