What to do when an Indian teammate never participates in group discussions and does no work

This semester, after forming a group for a course, the TA squeezed in an Indian teammate. But this teammate only participated in the first video meeting (he was cooking in the kitchen while on the video call ). After tasks were assigned, he never participated in any group discussions again. Based on the video meeting discussion, tasks were assigned to each person on Jira, and his task has made no progress so far. This week we have the midterm presentation, and he hasn't even done his part of the PPT.He didn't even show up on the day of the presentation.Earlier, I wanted to catch him after class to check on progress, but he didn't come to class at all. Now I've only seen him once in the video meeting, and I can barely remember what he looks like. He doesn't reply to messages in the group chat. Has anyone encountered this situation? How did you handle it in the end?
