Lakehead Engineering Course Review: EVIC5013

Subject: Communication and Research Methods

Required for Engineering majors, the professor is a very stubborn old man. The course content is mainly about academic writing. Students who haven't done research before should still listen carefully, because basically every Engineering course requires writing a short paper.

Class: There are many rules in class, and all electronic devices are prohibited (you'll be asked to leave the classroom, don't ask me how I know...). Attendance is taken every class and counts for a large 30%.

Assignments: He will have you watch his uploaded YouTube videos and hand-copy notes, which will eventually be submitted as an in-class quiz.

Exams: None. You'll be required to submit a 4-page paper (60%) and a 1-page cover letter (10%). Note: Strict AI and plagiarism checks, with heavy deductions!!

The teacher has strong control tendencies, but grades leniently. If you follow his rules completely, you'll basically get 90+.
