Winners & Marshalls clearance sale

This week, the editor visited Winners and Marshalls in person to observe the discount levels in Thunder Bay. Here's what was observed:

1. Both clothing and pants have discount sections with significant markdowns. T-shirts start at around 5 CAD, pants at around 15 CAD, and shorts at around 10 CAD.

2. Among recognizable brands, Adidas, Puma, Columbia, Guess, and Champion are more common.

3. Discounted items are on the shelves for you to pick. Most are odd sizes, with S and M being the most common, and a few L and XL.

4. The two stores are very close to each other. It's recommended to go to Marshalls first, then Winners. There's a high overlap between the two, but Marshalls seems to have a fuller selection.

5. Items that don't sell will continue to get additional discounts on top of existing ones, so you'll see the tag price (on the product tag), clearance original price (uniform white price label), clearance discount price (red sticker), clearance discount on discount (red sticker on red sticker), clearance discount on discount on discount... If you're not in a hurry, you can wait. If they still don't sell later, the price will drop further
