Sudbury RCIP / FCIP designated employers

No PDF. GSDC keeps its designated employers inside the RCIP / FCIP page on investsudbury.ca as an HTML table, unlike Thunder Bay's PDF. That makes updates faster, but the official page cannot be searched, filtered or browsed by sector. This page is parsed from that page (read 2026-08-16) and follows its updates; the original link is always in the footer.

GSDC records which pilot each employer is designated for: RCIP only, FCIP only, or both. This is a hard condition, not a hint. An offer from an employer designated for RCIP alone cannot be submitted under FCIP, and vice versa. Right now 338 take RCIP, 91 take FCIP, and 78 take both.

Most people only use it to check whether their own boss is on it. Reading it the other way is worth more. One, treat it as a targeted application list: pick the employers matching your occupation and approach them, because they have already been through designation and know what the pilot is. Two, check the pilot before the NOC: an eligible employer does not make your role eligible, which is a separate list. Three, read the sector grouping as a map. Trades and transport, education and community services, and health dominate Sudbury's designated employers, and matching that shape changes how fast you find an offer.

No. The list only says the company is eligible to recommend foreign workers through the pilot. It does not mean they have a vacancy, or that the vacancy is one of this year's priority occupations. The order is: employer on the list, employer designated for your pilot, role on the priority NOC list, role full-time and non-seasonal. All four, or none.

Because the official list has none. GSDC's page gives three columns, name, sector and pilot, and this page will not invent a fourth. To check whether a workplace sits inside the pilot area, hold the address on your offer against GSDC's community boundary map.

Have the employer apply for designation. It is applied for by the employer, approved by the community, free, and needed only once, after which each candidate goes through the recommendation process. Employers are generally expected to have been operating in the community, to do most of their business locally, to complete the community's training, and to commit to settlement support for the person they recommend. The current forms and full conditions are on GSDC's page. If you already work at a local company and your boss wants to keep you, forward them this paragraph, because many employers simply have not heard of the pilot.
